SECS’s Power Plant Controller (PPC) is a controller certified in accordance with NTS 2.1 (SEPE and SENP), designed to ensure that the operation of the grid-connected generation plant complies with the grid operator’s requirements at the point of interconnection (POI).
Its main function is to coordinate the plant’s various assets to ensure control of power, voltage and regulatory compliance at all times.
What does a Power Plant Controller do?
A PPC acts as the plant’s ‘brain’, managing the following aspects in real time:
- Active and reactive power.
- Voltage control and power factor (cos ϕ).
- Power ramp-up and ramp-down.
- Export limitations.
- Setpoints from the grid operator or the customer.
- Compliance with grid codes.
